What are the Reasons for the Unqualified Steel Butt Welding

The flash butt welding machine is mainly used for the end-to-face welding of metal parts. The materials that can be welded include carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, etc., and copper and aluminum, which are dissimilar materials.

There are reasons for the unqualified appearance of welded steel bars;

a. The upsetting diameter is not enough (the diameter of the pier is less than 1.4 times of the steel bar); the reason is that the heating temperature is low or the pressure is not enough.

b. The length of the thick part of the pier is not enough (less than 1.2 times the diameter of the steel bar); the reason is that the heating temperature is low, or the heating steel area is short.

c. The steel bars are not concentric; the reason is that the clamps are not concentric, or the clamps are removed too early, or the end faces of the steel bars are too inclined.

d. The joint shaft is ring-shaped; the reason is that the heating time is short or the heating is excessive.

e. The joint is drooping; the reason is that the flame adjustment is not good, or the operation is not good, or the heating time is too long.

f. The joint is bent; the reason is that there is no alignment when the reinforcement is clamped, or the clamp is removed too early.

g. The joint is burnt and cracked; the reason is that the heating flame is too large.

h. Biased joint type; the reason is uneven heating at both ends of the steel bar.

i. The shape is uneven; the reason is uneven heating, or the end face of the steel bar is too uneven.

Before welding, both ends of the electrode are simultaneously pressed against the ends of the butt-welded parts and then energized. At the same time, the two ends are driven by the actuator to approach the flashing heating end. When the end is heated to a certain temperature after a certain time, the two ends The butt joint is completed by sudden upsetting to form a flash welded joint.
