How to Adjust the Nugget Offset of Resistance Spot Welding Machine?

The principle of the resistance spot welding machine to adjust the nugget offset is to increase the heat generation of the thin plate or the workpiece with good electrical and thermal conductivity to reduce its heat dissipation. Commonly used methods are:

Adopt strong conditions: increase the influence of contact resistance between workpieces and reduce the influence of electrode heat dissipation. It is obvious that the spot welding machine can weld workpieces with a large thickness ratio by using a large current and a short energizing time.

Electrodes with different contact surface diameters should be smaller in diameter on the side of a thin piece or a workpiece with good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity to increase the current density on this side and reduce the effect of electrode heat dissipation.

Use different electrode materials: a thin plate or a copper alloy with poor thermal conductivity is used on the side of the workpiece with good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity to reduce the heat loss on this side.

Use process gasket: pad a gasket made of metal with poor thermal conductivity (thickness 0.2-0.3mm) on the side of a thin piece or a workpiece with good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity to reduce heat dissipation on this side.
